THIS ONE HITS HOME FOR ME.

I’m a former youth sports coach. I spent 17 years around young athletes. I know how hard girls train, how much they sacrifice, and how much confidence, discipline and pride they build through competition.

NO BALLZ IN WOMANS STALLS!!

PERIOD!

And I believe GIRLS’ SPORTS SHOULD REMAIN GIRLS’ SPORTS.

Prop 134 is about SCHOOL AND COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS.

It would require teams to be designated MALE, FEMALE, or COED/MIXED, and generally require athletes competing on male- or female-designated teams to compete according to their biological sex.

This isn’t some abstract political argument to me.

I coached girls.

I watched them practice.

I watched them compete.

I watched them bust their asses to get stronger, faster and better.

I watched sports teach them teamwork, discipline, confidence and how to get back up after getting knocked down.

I believe female athletes deserve their own competitive category.

Girls should never have to wonder whether the rules protecting female competition are going to change underneath their feet.

And YES, transgender students deserve dignity and respect too. Nobody needs to bully a kid to have a serious debate about fairness in athletics. The can have Their Own dam league!

But I believe biological sex MATTERS in competitive sports.

That’s my position as a woman, an athlete, and a former youth sports coach.
