“No Kings” Protest Returns to Colorado Springs October 17 With Focus on Early Voting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The nationwide “No Kings” movement is preparing for another day of action this month, with a Colorado Springs event scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, in downtown Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs event, billed as “No Kings 4: Vote Early in COS,” is scheduled to run from noon until 2 p.m.

Organizers list three downtown locations connected to the event:

  • Acacia Park, 225 N. Nevada Ave.
  • Colorado Springs City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave.
  • First United Methodist Church parking lot, 420 N. Nevada Ave.

This edition of No Kings is expected to look somewhat different from previous demonstrations. National organizers are calling the October 17 event “No Kings: Vote Early,” with a greater emphasis on voter participation and helping eligible voters prepare for the November election.

From Protest to Voter Participation

According to organizers, the Colorado Springs gathering is expected to include information about Colorado ballot measures, polling locations, ballot drop boxes, poll watching and volunteer opportunities.

Organizers describe the October 17 nationwide action as nonpartisan and say the objective is to encourage eligible voters to understand their voting options and make a plan to vote.

The national No Kings organization says the October campaign is intended to turn what it describes as “people power” from previous demonstrations into voter participation.

The movement continues to use the slogan “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.”

While organizers describe the event as nonpartisan, the broader No Kings movement has become known nationally for demonstrations opposing what participants view as excessive executive power and threats to democratic institutions.

Previous Colorado Springs Demonstrations Drew Large Crowds

Colorado Springs has already seen several major No Kings demonstrations.

During the October 2025 No Kings demonstration, thousands of participants gathered at America the Beautiful Park before marching through downtown Colorado Springs.

The Gazette previously reported organizers estimated attendance at that demonstration at between 12,000 and 15,000 people.

Another round of No Kings demonstrations was held across Colorado in March 2026, including an event in Colorado Springs.

The October 17 gathering therefore could once again bring a sizable number of demonstrators into downtown Colorado Springs, although attendance for this month’s event cannot yet be reliably predicted.

Organizers Emphasize Nonviolence

National No Kings organizers state that events are intended to be peaceful and lawful.

Organizers say participants are expected to avoid confrontation, attempt to de-escalate conflicts and refrain from civil disobedience.

The organization also specifically asks participants not to bring weapons of any kind, including weapons that could otherwise legally be carried.

The Colorado Springs event listing describes the gathering as accessible to people with disabilities and notes that parking along Nevada Avenue is limited.

What Drivers and Downtown Visitors Should Know

As of publication, Patriots First Media has not independently confirmed any special road closures, police traffic-control plans or other restrictions associated with the demonstration.
